Upcoming Events/Volunteering Needs
We need your help at upcoming Trail Days!
We need your help to meet our goal of finishing the Back 40 this season! Join us for a variety of trail projects: clearing, benching, cribbing, shaping/tamping, raking/blowing, etc. We'll supply the tools and directions if you are newer to trail building!
Meet at the Okemo Valley TV/Community center parking lot during one (or both) of two upcoming Saturdays:
2024 VMBA Member Party - Sunday, September 22nd 9am-5p
Reminder to join your fellow VMBA Members at Saskadena Six to celebrate the mountain bike community with group rides, bike demos, vendors, community partners, epic tacos, Fiddlehead beers, and raffle prizes. BUT you must be a 2024 VMBA member (any chapter) to attend!
Kelly Brush Benefit Ride - Sunday, September 29th 1p
LAST will be hosting 2 Rides:
12 mile road/gravel ride through Ludlow and Cavendish
5 mile MTB ride on the Back 40
Both rides are non-competitive - anyone can participate! We'll be asking for donations to support the Kelly Brush Foundation to help inspire and empower people with spinal cord injuries to lead active and engaged lives.
Trail Progress
A huge thank you to the Town of Ludlow for a 2nd allocation of ARPA funds that will help us complete the upper loop (phase 3) build out of the Back 40 trail system, with the help of Sinuosity and our awesome volunteers. We're on track to hit our goal of the Back 40 being completed this season!
LAST also reached a big milestone - we received our Act 250 permit for the Fletcher Farm trail system! We're already scouting lines throughout the property and have a plan in place to start building trails in 2025. The goal is to have a variety of trail difficulties and about 4.5 miles of trails once that section is completed.
